Second Meeting of the new CCRR

Today 28 March 2014, we attended the second meeting of the CCRR in the Council Chamber of the City. Were present at this time-by 14.00 to 16.00- the group of representatives of secondary school.

It all began at 8:40, the tellers when they started stamping the ballots. And the 9:00 here is the bell of commencement and first class arrived at the polling.

The order of the classes was growing, and thus were the first to experience the children in first and the last ones of the fifth grade.

We have noticed that all classes have expressed the same kind of emotions than the morning ... Someone was rough, those quiet, who moved, or less. Who secure their vote and those who still uncertain. All, however, were very pleased to be able to live this new experience.

The confusion is not failure, given the first time. Most of the children were disoriented, even a little 'emotion. But they were not the only ones: well as the tellers were faced with the unexpected, how to reorder the names of the students absent.

7 March.. special day!!!!!

Even small vote, yes, just so!

Everything is ready: seats, urn, tellers, president and vice-president of the polling.

It breathes in the air so much euphoria but also agitation and fear.

The majority of voters are excited, someone is upset because he can not vote but all candidates must choose two.

Some candidates are doubly worried: not to be elected but at the same time to have the responsibility to become counselors.

When we finally, after a few days, are made known the names of councilors, c 'is a sigh of relief, someone is sorry for not being chosen, some other rejoices in disbelief. All, however, are very pleased to confirm that the elected representatives and give them support.

The words of the elections

To prepare to become electorate we have been working on the words that accompanied our new enterprise active citizens.

Let's start with…

At every step, We approached the reading of an article of the Italian Constitution or the Convention on the Rights of the Child, finding some affinity.

The maestro Roberto took us into the idea of democracy of Cleisthenes, then the concept of 'Wonder' of Aristotle, feeling that encloses the astonishment and fear,da cui, according to the philosopher, philosophical thought is born.

What we want from this experience?

We would like a day of dialogue between ancient documents, Greece of Pericles, to those of today, national and international – the Italian Constitution and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The story must be a continuous dialogue between the present and the past in order to understand and build the direction of the path to the future.

It was a journey to the roots of democracy, we did discover the ancient and ever new needs to the right of equal social, all’ love for the beautiful, the right of everyone to participate in the political life of the city.
